Desending

Same Spirit!!

The same Spirit and the same anointment that came over Jesus Christ is the same EXACT Spirit and anointment living inside of us!!!!…….John 1:32-34..”Then John gave the testimony: ‘I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. (33) I would not have known him, except that the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is he who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ (34) I have seen and I testify that this is the Son of God’.”

God will give those that He has called to Himself His Spirit. Jesus says in John 16, “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will declare to you the things that are to come.”(13) He also tells us the difference in baptism, explaining in Acts 1 “For John Baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”(5) and how the Spirit will use us in all of our surroundings, not just right where we started out, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (8) And this is how you can receive the Holy Spirit, Acts 2 “And Peter said to them, ‘Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’ ” (38)

This should give us hope, for a couple of reasons.  With the Holy Spirit in us, we don’t have to do anything in our own strength because we can rely on the Spirit for His power.  We also will be able to better determine what God wants for our life and how He wants us to live it with the help and wisdom from the Holy Spirit.  It is the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ working in and through us each and everyday for the glory and honor of God.  We can, through His power, be able to praise Him for what He has given us.

“Spirituality is attention to the life of the Spirit within us;  it is going out in the desert or up to the mountain to pray.  It is standing before the Lord with open heart, open mind;  it is crying out, “Abba, Father”;  it is contemplating the unspeakable beauty of our loving God.”
