At my pad!

It has been two LONG weeks, but finally I have internet in the apartment or “flats” as the South Africans call it.  It has been a hard two weeks as well, most of the things that we tried to get done never worked out the first times around.  God has definitely been testing my patience as well as the other people on my team.  With our flight being delayed to changing the whole flight to the next night, Not finding a place to stay for about a week and then two days later having to move everything to another apartment at the same place because of the owner selling our two places without telling us, our money not going through to our bank accounts, not having pin numbers to be able to access our salary, and having to wait for a week to get a car that we didn’t have to pay each day for.

Through all of this God has definitely been testing me with my patience and seeing if I would give everything over to him instead of just trying to do things on my own, like I think I can do sometimes. James 4:14-15 helps explain what I need to be doing for God instead of for myself.

“yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. 15 Instead you ought to say, ‘if the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” James 4:14-15
