Before the Throne

Before the throne of God above,

I have a strong, and perfect plea,

A great High Priest whose name is “Love,”

Who ever lives and pleads for me.

My name is graven on His hands,

My name is written on His heart;

I know that while in heav’n He stands

No tongue can bid me thence depart.

No tongue can bid me thence depart.

When Satan tempts me to despair,

And tells me of the guilt within,

Upward I look and see Him there

Who made an end to all my sin.

Because the sinless Savior died,

My sinful soul is counted free;

For God, the Just, is satisfied

To look on Him and pardon me.

To look on Him and pardon me.

Hallelujah                 Hallelujah

Praise the One, Risen Son of God

Behold Him there! the risen Lamb,

My perfect, spotless Righteousness,

The great unchangeable I AM,

The King of glory and of grace!

One with Himself I cannot die,

My soul is purchased by His blood;

My life is hid with Christ on high,

With Christ, my Savior and my God.

With Christ, my Savior and my God.

Hallelujah                 Hallelujah

Praise the One,    Risen Son of God

For to us a Child is Born

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given;

and the government shall be upon his shoulder,

and his name shall be called Wonderful,

Counselor,

Mighty God,

Everlasting Father,

Prince of Peace.

Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end,

on the throne of David and over his kingdom,

to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness

from this time forth and forevermore.”   Isaiah 9:6-7a

Less of me, more of you

Shane and Shane has a song entitled The Answer.  It speaks to what I want my heart wants to say, but what I have not been living for lately.  You can listen to the song here.

I’ve tried more of me and I’ve come up dry

trading You for things, things that go away

my happiness is found in less of me and more of You

my happiness is found in less of me and more of You

i have found the answer is to love You and be loved by You alone

alright! alright! alright!

You crucify me and the world to me and i will only boast in You

alright! alright! alright!

O’ so satisfied at the thought of You

growing up in me covering everything

my happiness is found in less of me and more of You

my happiness is found in less of me and more of You

i have found the answer is to love You and be loved by You alone

You crucify me and the world to me and i will only boast in You

alright! alright! alright!

You are, You are (loved by me)

You are, You are (You’re loved by me)

So many times I try to do things on my own, and fall short of anything that I want to accomplish.  I look to myself and not to Jesus, who is always there to help when you seek His face and for His glory.  I know what I should do and it is what I want to do, but so many times I let my thoughts and the thoughts of Satan come into my mind and heart. They tell me to go my own way, making it seem to be the easier and quicker way of doing things.  This is totally false and a complete lie, and one that Satan finds full enjoyment; when God’s children stray and go their own way.  I still have hope and there is hope for you as well, those that feel the same as I do, because of the story of The Prodigal Son.  God will and does take us back, when we repent and acknowledge that we need Him more than anything else.

I know I need Him to help me through this life, cause trying by myself has not gotten me far at all, maybe a little bit lower in the ground.  He can and will pick me up and carry me to a place that will allow me to go on with life as I follow Him to life ever-after.

Fightin sin pt. 1

“Let not one of them escape.”   1Kings 18:40

When the prophet Elijah had received the answer to his prayer, and the fire from heaven had consumed the sacrifice in the presence of all the people, he called upon the assembled Israelites to take the priests of Baal, and sternly cried, “Let not one of them escape.” He took them all down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there. So must it be with our sins—they are all doomed, not one must be preserved. Our darling sin must die. Spare it not for its much crying. Strike, though it be as dear as an Isaac. Strike, for God struck at sin when it was laid upon his own Son. With stern unflinching purpose must you condemn to death that sin which was once the idol of your heart. Do you ask how you are to accomplish this? Jesus will be your power. You have grace to overcome sin given you in the covenant of grace; you have strength to win the victory in the crusade against inward lusts, because Christ Jesus has promised to be with you even unto the end. If you would triumph over darkness, set yourself in the presence of the Sun of Righteousness. There is no place so well adapted for the discovery of sin, and recovery from its power and guilt, as the immediate presence of God. Job never knew how to get rid of sin half so well as he did when his eye of faith rested upon God, and then he abhorred himself, and repented in dust and ashes. The fine gold of the Christian is oft becoming dim. We need the sacred fire to consume the dross. Let us fly to our God, he is a consuming fire; he will not consume our spirit, but our sins. Let the goodness of God excite us to a sacred jealousy, and to a holy revenge against those iniquities which are hateful in his sight. Go forth to battle with Amalek, in his strength, and utterly destroy the accursed crew: let not one of them escape.  (Evening, C.H. Spurgeon July 17)

Oh, how I hate sin only after the fact of me doing it, which is usually more of a convicting feeling rather than one of remorse and wanting to fight the sin right from the start.  Why can’t I hate sin before the fact of it happening, when I totally know what the outcome will be and how I will be feeling about the sin in my life.  Only through God’s grace, mercy, strength, and power will I be able to beat the sin that is so prevalent in my life.  If I ask of Him and hide under His mighty wings, can I be able to start living a holy life devoted to Him.  I am still a sinner and will always sin til I die, but hopefully as I grow older the sins will start to decrease in their consistency and power.

Keep striving to fight sin in and through the power of Jesus Christ.  When we seek and savor Jesus for who He is and what He has done for our lives, helps us better want to live our lives for Him and not to satisfy our self-wants and desires.  Strive for Him to be glorified and you will be fighting sin along the way.

All we need is love…

A friend of mine wrote this excerpt a good while ago, but I think we all need to keep this in mind as we are living our lives and the position or place that God has us in at this exact moment.  For me, I am in South Africa and there are tones of times where I have to lean on God to love a certain person, because of what God has me doing here and that I am a ambassador for Christ, not living for myself, but for Him.

A lot people can’t reach the same non believers the same way you can. THat’s why God puts us all in different places and different situations for reasons sometimes unexplainable. Everyone that’s in our lives are there for a specific reason. We don’t meet people on accident. So the next time you meet someone different accept them no matter what they’re going through. We have to LOVE them first.
Do we love people?
The difference between our love and God’s love is this: Our love towards people is Conditional. We only LOVE people because of who they are in out lives or what they have done for us. But God’t LOVE is Unconditional! To Him it doesn’t matter who you are or what you have done for him or anyone else. He LOVES us no matter what circumstances we are facing or have faced. “If anyone says, I LOVE God, yet hates his brother he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot LOVE God, whom he has not seen.’ (1 John 4:20) THe only way we can obtain this Unconditional LOVE that God has is through His Spirit…Take it or leave it……Do you Love God??
God LOVES everyone!
God LOVES murderers, liars, adulterers, prostitutes, homosexuals, porn addicts, drug addicts, alcoholics, husbands who beat their wives/families, thieves, child molesters, and everyone in between. He LOVES you no matter what. He hates the sin but always LOVES the sinner!!!!

We can only love those around us by having God love THROUGH us.  If we don’t love God first and formost, we will never be able to love anyone around us to the extent that is needed.  No one is perfect, and that’s so cool about Jesus. He doesn’t want us to be perfect and able to love everyone.  He wants us to have our faults, so when we trust in Him and rely in Him, He will work through us and get all the glory because we know how bad and wrong we are without Him.  “4But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which He loved us, 5even when we were dead in our trespasses made us alive together in Christ – by grace you have been saved” Eph. 2:4-6

“1Therefore be imitatirs of God, as beloved children. 2And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a fragrant offeringand sacrifice to God.” Eph. 5:1&2

“7Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.”             1 John 4:7

Let us love those today through the Holy Spirit, given to us through Christ and His love for us first, seeing others as Christ see’s them.  We don’t have to love what they do, but we should love them for who God made them, in His image!
