Hallelujah, Christ is risen indeed

Through Him, we are given everything we need to live a life for Him and His praise.  He died so that we could live with Him forever if we just believe that He is God and the Saviour for all.  Let us give thanks to Him this day, for He has died and now risen!

Let God be the glory

As we celebrate this season, let us continue to look to Christ for the things that we have around us.  Give glory to Christ for His grace and mercy given to us freely, let there be peace for all in the midst of everything that might come our way and let goodwill be given to all men!

Here is a little holiday greeting card called Glory to God. Enjoy!

Less of me, more of you

Shane and Shane has a song entitled The Answer.  It speaks to what I want my heart wants to say, but what I have not been living for lately.  You can listen to the song here.

I’ve tried more of me and I’ve come up dry

trading You for things, things that go away

my happiness is found in less of me and more of You

my happiness is found in less of me and more of You

i have found the answer is to love You and be loved by You alone

alright! alright! alright!

You crucify me and the world to me and i will only boast in You

alright! alright! alright!

O’ so satisfied at the thought of You

growing up in me covering everything

my happiness is found in less of me and more of You

my happiness is found in less of me and more of You

i have found the answer is to love You and be loved by You alone

You crucify me and the world to me and i will only boast in You

alright! alright! alright!

You are, You are (loved by me)

You are, You are (You’re loved by me)

So many times I try to do things on my own, and fall short of anything that I want to accomplish.  I look to myself and not to Jesus, who is always there to help when you seek His face and for His glory.  I know what I should do and it is what I want to do, but so many times I let my thoughts and the thoughts of Satan come into my mind and heart. They tell me to go my own way, making it seem to be the easier and quicker way of doing things.  This is totally false and a complete lie, and one that Satan finds full enjoyment; when God’s children stray and go their own way.  I still have hope and there is hope for you as well, those that feel the same as I do, because of the story of The Prodigal Son.  God will and does take us back, when we repent and acknowledge that we need Him more than anything else.

I know I need Him to help me through this life, cause trying by myself has not gotten me far at all, maybe a little bit lower in the ground.  He can and will pick me up and carry me to a place that will allow me to go on with life as I follow Him to life ever-after.

Not to us

Not to us

The cross before us, the world behind,

No turning back, raise the banner high;

It’s not for us, it’s all for You.

Let the heavens shake and splite the sky,

Let the people clap their hands and cry;

It’s not for us, its all for You.

Not to us; But to your name be the glory

Not to us; But to your name be the glory

Our hearts unfold before Your throne,

The only place for those who know;

It’s not for us, it’s all for You.

Send Your holy fire on this offering,

Let our worship burn for the world to see;

Its not for us, it’s all for You.

The earth is shacking, the mountains shouting; it’s all for You

The waves are crashing, the Sun is raging; it’s all for You

Your Children dancing, dancing, dancing; it’s all for You

Nothing is ours, nothing can be said that we have done; all of it is Christ’s and everything we have done is through the power of the Holy Spirit and given to us by God Himself.  He made us in His image and for those that he calls to His kingdom, He already foreknew them before time began.

Battle Hymn of the Republic

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord:

He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;

He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword:

His truth is marching on.

(Chorus)

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

His truth is marching on.

I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps,

They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;

I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps:

His day is marching on.

(Chorus)

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

His day is marching on.

I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel:

“As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal;

Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel,

Since God is marching on.”

(Chorus)

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Since God is marching on.

He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;

He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat:

Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet!

Our God is marching on.

(Chorus)

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Our God is marching on.

In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,

With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:

As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free,

While God is marching on.

(Chorus)

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

While God is marching on.

He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave,

He is Wisdom to the mighty, He is Succour to the brave,

So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of Time His slave,

Our God is marching on.

(Chorus)

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Our God is marching on.

Both the notes and influences are pretty interesting.

This is a quote from Vonette Bright about the World and how we as Christians are in the Prime position and time to reach out and gather in the harvest:

The Lord has impressed me so much this summer with the thought that Campus Crusade for Christ has come into existence “for such a time as this.” Other Christian organizations, I trust, are sensing the same call.  The whole world, and especially the United States, is floundering for a lack of godly and biblical understanding and direction. So many people no longer know who God is and what it means to depend upon His direction. Our mission, along with the rest of the body of Christ, is to tell them…  When Steve Douglass explained about the technology of satellites of communication now being put into place, making it possible for every person on planet Earth to be contacted, it would seem, most certainly, the message of God’s love and forgiveness will be able to be heard by every person… Campus Crusade for Christ now has a staff member or a representative in most corners of the world. If we are not there, another organization is. Hallelujah! “This is no time for business as usual.” Quote by Bill Bright… God directed me to Psalm 112. “Light shines in the darkness for the godly. They are generous, compassionate, and righteous. Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly. Such people will not be overcome by evil. Those who are righteous will be long remembered. They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the LORD to care for them. They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly. They share freely and give generously to those in need. Their good deeds will be remembered forever. They will have influence and honor. The wicked will see this and be infuriated. They will grind their teeth in anger; they will slink away, their hopes thwarted.”… I believe the future of our country and the world is in the hands of godly believers. The way we live and express our faith will make a difference in our world. The future has never looked brighter! Oh, God, anoint us for the task and keep us faithful.

Crusade is using Global Media Outreach to reach the world through the internet. Pretty interesting, check it out.

here are a couple more sites about Being a World Christian and how some aren’t focusing on the Global Mission. All of us need to do our part to bring “every tribe and language and people and nation” (Rev. 5:9b, 7:9, 14:6) “and this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:14.

Let us work for His glory, whether it is at home or around the world.

His Remembrance

“And I will remember My covenant” Genesis 9:15

Mark the form of the promise. God does not say, “And when ye shall look upon the bow, and ye shall remember my covenant, then I will not destroy the earth,” but it is gloriously put, not upon our memory, which is fickle and frail, but upon God’s memory, which is infinite and immutable. “The bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant.” Oh! it is not my remembering God, it is God’s remembering me which is the ground of my safety; it is not my laying hold of his covenant, but his covenant’s laying hold on me. Glory be to God! the whole of the bulwarks of salvation are secured by divine power, and even the minor towers, which we may imagine might have been left to man, are guarded by almighty strength. Even the remembrance of the covenant is not left to our memories, for we might forget, but our Lord cannot forget the saints whom he has graven on the palms of his hands. It is with us as with Israel in Egypt; the blood was upon the lintel and the two side-posts, but the Lord did not say, “When you see the blood I will pass over you,” but “When I see the blood I will pass over you.” My looking to Jesus brings me joy and peace, but it is God’s looking to Jesus which secures my salvation and that of all his elect, since it is impossible for our God to look at Christ, our bleeding Surety, and then to be angry with us for sins already punished in him. No, it is not left with us even to be saved by remembering the covenant. There is no linsey-wolsey here—not a single thread of the creature mars the fabric. It is not of man, neither by man, but of the Lord alone. We should remember the covenant, and we shall do it, through divine grace; but the hinge of our safety does not hang there—it is God’s remembering us, not our remembering him; and hence the covenant is an everlasting covenant. C.H. Spurgeon Morning and Evening, Evening August 13

What a great thing to grasp, that we don’t have to remember all the time or try and remind God of what He told us with the convent of old.  He remembers and will always remember, not letting one of His children out of His sight and out of His controlling, comforting hands.  We don’t have to do anything, and we didn’t DO anything to deserve this, since us and this world is all for the glory of God and His covenant allows us to be apart of His plan for world redemption.
