What is happening right now?

There are times in life where this question comes up, and for me it seems like it has been coming up more frequently than ever before.  A big reason might be the fact that I don’t really have a straight forward view on what Career I would like or in what field of work I would like to be in.  Where do you start? Other things are coming at me like a race car driver on the Daytona track, making me flinch and not allowing me to take a step forward, only sideways or backwards.  I could go into details, but don’t want to in this fashion, so I will talk more about what I stumbled upon that caught my eye instead of what keeps flying over my head. On Desiring God‘s Blog, I found one entitled Can You Bear Uncertainty? My interest peaked, I wanted to see what this blog had to offer.

We all go through uncertainty at times and for all different kinds of reasons, but knowing God is in control of everything should put us in a state of calmness.  I need and want to get to that point, I just need God’s help in doing that because I sure can’t do it on my own.

Shout to God pt. 2

If you would like to read the first part in this two part series, you can go here.

Check out Nehemiah 1:5-11 and see how He prepared for something big in his life and how he asked God for guidance right off the bat.  Also look at the difference in time from Nehemiah 1:1 and 2:1.

Dancing with God

So, the cars that we have this year for STINT have not been so good to us since we got them.  for a while both didn’t have the radios working because there needs to be a code put into them before they work and that still hasn’t happened for one car (the other one that the guys have thankfully has it now).  BUT, the guys’ car, which is an opel corsa (which I have never heard before in my life and don’t really know if its reliable or not — the car dealership owner said so) has broken down twice in the last week.  When I say broken down, I mean that we will drive it for a little bit, somewhere, shut it off and then a little while later when we try and start it, it will not start.  We took it back to the dealership once and they thought they fixed the problem, but it happened again a day later, so we took it back in a second time.  I was already a little frustrated with what was happening in SA, so I just wanted to get another car and be done with the ‘great’ opel that we had.

The dealership that we were dealing with was actually christian (we saw that when we got there with bible verses on the wall and different things like that).  One of the dealers, gave me a sheet of paper while I was waiting on what was going to happen, (they asked the opel dealership what might be the problem and then checked if that was what was making the car not run sometimes) and it really made me think about how I was handling the situation and not letting God do His work.                 Here is what he gave me:

Dancing with God

When I meditated on the word Guidance, I kept seeing “dance” at the end of the word. I remember reading that doing God’s will is a lot like dancing. When two people try to lead, nothing feels right. The movement doesn’t flow with the music, and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky. When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead, both bodies begin to flow with the music. One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back or by pressing lightly in one direction or another. It’s as if two become one body, moving beautifully. The dance takes surrender, willingness and attentiveness for one person and gentle guidance and skill from the other. My eyes drew back to the word Guidance. When I saw “G”: I thought of God, followed by “u” and “i”. “God, “u” and “i” dance.” God, you, and I dance.  As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust that I would get guidance about my life. Once again, I became willing to let God lead. My prayer for you today is that God’s blessings and mercies are upon you on this day and everyday. May you abide in God, as God abides in you. Dance together with God, trusting God to lead and to guide you through each season of your life. This prayer is powerful and there is nothing attached if God has done anything for you in your life, please share this message with someone else. There is no cost but a lot of rewards; so let’s continue to pray for one another.

Long story short (above) they fixed what was wrong, and Hopefully, by GOD’s blessing we will not have any more problems with that car.  I’m not saying that we won’t have things go wrong, cause I’m pretty sure they will (it would just be nice to not have to worry about cars and how we can be able to get around here).  I have definitely been learning patience, and I know God puts trials in our way to see how we will react, nothing that we can’t handle, but enough to lead us to Him.  This helped in how I was thinking about what was going on, and I hope that who ever reads this or has gotten this through an email will be helped by it too.
