Hearing his voice

After watching  The Passion earlier, I started thinking about the angry crowds who were shouting ‘Crucify Him!’ We always look down on the one’s who shouted those words, wondering how they could do that to their Savior. Remember, these were the same people who less than a week previously had welcomed Him into Jerusalem with much celebration. I often hear people say something along the lines of: When the end times come, I won’t be one of those “weak” Christians who are going to fall away(Matthew 24:12). Are you sure? Don’t be too proud(already not a good sign).

I don’t think that anyone in that crowd that welcomed Jesus into the city thought that they’d be crying for His blood a few short days later.  How does one explain their actions? Well, Jesus said that it was the hour of the power of darkness(Luke 22:53) and it seems that in an “hour” such as that, most bend to the enemy’s whims.  Just something to be said, there will be many “dark hours” apart from the end times.

So, what makes those who stay true to the Lord Jesus Christ different from those who don’t?  Not much, in the whole scheem of things, but there is some thing that can determine the difference.  We are all made the same, no one is “better” than the other, only God knows in each person’s heart who is His’ and who has fallen for the devil.  It is not anything that we have done, or not done, to be apart of God’s family; all we get  to do is accept God’s gift and ask Jesus to help us live our lives for Him.  There are other voices that are out there, one’s connected to His’ and others that maybe look and try to sound the part, but will lead in another direction.

John 10:1-5 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, FOR THEY KNOW HIS VOICE. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”

Jesus’ sheep will know His voice. Some will not be apart of the flock because they didn’t hear His voice. There are many shepherds(even well meaning ones) who would lead us off a cliff. I’m making it a priority to KNOW His voice.

Ya really think so?

This looks to be like an interesting Movie:

The thing that gets me, is how a lot of people think that this is really when the world is going to end, or Y2K was when the world was going to end, or some other date in history.  How can any of us, not making ourselves or anything natural around us, could posibbly know when the end times will come?  It might be like this video. But I am going to have to go with what Jesus said in Matthew 24:

36 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. 37 For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, 39 and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one left. 42 Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. 45 “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his master has set over his household, to give them their food at the proper time? 46 Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. 47 Truly, I say to you, he will set him over all his possessions. 48 But if that wicked servant says to himself, ‘My master is delayed,’ 49 and begins to beat his fellow servants and eats and drinks with drunkards, 50 the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know 51 and will cut him in pieces and put him with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Whenever God sees fit for His Son to come back to earth and take up His children to be with Him in Heaven for eternity, that will be the day and time that the world will end as we know it.  Again, we just won’t know exactly when that will be, but Like Jesus said “42 Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. 44 Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

This is a quote from Vonette Bright about the World and how we as Christians are in the Prime position and time to reach out and gather in the harvest:

The Lord has impressed me so much this summer with the thought that Campus Crusade for Christ has come into existence “for such a time as this.” Other Christian organizations, I trust, are sensing the same call.  The whole world, and especially the United States, is floundering for a lack of godly and biblical understanding and direction. So many people no longer know who God is and what it means to depend upon His direction. Our mission, along with the rest of the body of Christ, is to tell them…  When Steve Douglass explained about the technology of satellites of communication now being put into place, making it possible for every person on planet Earth to be contacted, it would seem, most certainly, the message of God’s love and forgiveness will be able to be heard by every person… Campus Crusade for Christ now has a staff member or a representative in most corners of the world. If we are not there, another organization is. Hallelujah! “This is no time for business as usual.” Quote by Bill Bright… God directed me to Psalm 112. “Light shines in the darkness for the godly. They are generous, compassionate, and righteous. Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly. Such people will not be overcome by evil. Those who are righteous will be long remembered. They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the LORD to care for them. They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly. They share freely and give generously to those in need. Their good deeds will be remembered forever. They will have influence and honor. The wicked will see this and be infuriated. They will grind their teeth in anger; they will slink away, their hopes thwarted.”… I believe the future of our country and the world is in the hands of godly believers. The way we live and express our faith will make a difference in our world. The future has never looked brighter! Oh, God, anoint us for the task and keep us faithful.

Crusade is using Global Media Outreach to reach the world through the internet. Pretty interesting, check it out.

here are a couple more sites about Being a World Christian and how some aren’t focusing on the Global Mission. All of us need to do our part to bring “every tribe and language and people and nation” (Rev. 5:9b, 7:9, 14:6) “and this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:14.

Let us work for His glory, whether it is at home or around the world.
